World of Beer Giveaway Contest

In my Gambit column a couple weeks ago, I mentioned that World of Beer is doing a fall food menu with suggested beer pairings. They invited me in to taste it and I've gotta say, it's pretty good. I didn't pay for the food and drink they had me try, but I would definitely go back and pay for that cornbread and chili. Mmm, on this rainy day, both of those sound awesome.

But why should I be the only one to get free food from World of Beer? I have a $25 gift card to give away to someone who responds in the comments below their favorite food and beer pairing.
Something you've had at a restaurant, at a tasting/pairing event, or just a combination you like to do at home. I'm going to put a kibosh on boiled crawfish as one of the foods to be paired with beer for this contest though. It's too easy and there are so many more great foods and dishes out there that are so great with food!

Leave a comment below and I will choose a winner on Friday, and the World of Beer $25 gift card will be awarded for use at either the Warehouse District or Metairie locations. And then you can try out the stuff on the fall menu and see what you think. Other dishes include a pimento cheese that had this bacon jam on top, which gave it some extra acidity that I really liked; some hot freaking habenero pumpkin spice wings, and meatloaf sliders with gravy made with NOLA Brown Ale.

  1. I had a bacon wrapped pork loin paired with Gnarly Barley's Korova Milk Porter at Cate Street in Hammond that was absolutely bonkers!

  2. When Courtyard Brewery did the donut pairing with District Donuts most were my favorite pairing but I remember especially loving the Prairie Gold with a peach jelly and citrus sugar donut.

  3. Bratwursts and a Pilsner. I've had it at both Deustche Haus and at St. James...I like a good classic

  4. Ayinger Ur-Weisse with wings

    1. Congrats, you've won the gift card! (Note: I used to select the winner.)

  5. Bayou Teche Biere Noir with homemade chicken and waffles. Solid. -Dom

  6. I love Gnarly Barley's Radical Rye PA with the cheese fries at Chimes!
