Saturday, September 17

Sunday, September 18


3 p.m. - LaCBW kickoff party with Bayou Teche, Cajun food, and Haydel hand pies at the Avenue Pub (1732 St. Charles Ave, (504) 586-9243). Not only will there be new Bayou Teche beers to try - the new Rajun Cajuns lager and the latest version of its IPA, A Giant Hop For Mankind - but there will be a beer and pie tasting. This $12 flight of four 4 oz pours of Bayou Teche’s barrel aged beers will be paired up with pieces of the hand pies.

5-7 p.m. - Louisiana Craft Beer Blind Tasting Challenge
504 Craft Beer Reserve (3939 Tulane Ave, (504) 875-3723)
Put your beer taste buds to the test during this competition at beer store/bottle shop 504 Craft Beer Reserve. Tickets are $10 to participate as a contestant, and if you best your competitors, the prize is a $100 gift card for any beer or merchandise at the store.

5 p.m. - NOLA Brewing Night at the Avenue Pub
with: Tart of Steel -dry hopped tart wheat, Darkest before Dawn dunkel lager, ALS IPA- charitable Farmhouse IPA, made with experimental hop blend. Double Dry Hopped Hopitoulas IPA, Coffee Chocolate stout- bourbon barrel aged with cocoa nibs and coffee, Arabella peach sour, Sauvage, plus one more funk.

5 p.m. - Great Raft Brewing at World of Beer
Flight of 4 GRB beers (Southern Drawl, Commotion, All My Tomorrows, and Farmhouse Slang bottle pours) paired with 4 of their tavern shares / food bites.

Chef Adam Biderman created a burger specifically to pair with Great Raft Brewing’s Double Dry-Hopped Commotion pale ale: “The Big Tall,” with 2 single patties, shaved white onion, Russian dressing, pickled jalapenos on a double decker Weiss Guys sesame seed bun. Treat yo’self and get their earlier rather than later.

1 p.m. - Great Raft Tap Takeover at Avenue Pub
with: Ocean Between Us #2- Galaxy dry hopped Brett IPA, double dry hopped Commotion, All My Tomorrows- Mosaic dry hopped saison, You, Me & Everyone We Know- American wild ale, Barrel aged Old Mad Joy 2015 (aged in Pappy barrels), Barrel aged Old Mad Joy (aged in Heaven Hill barrels), and bottle pours of Farmhouse Slang saison.

3-11 p.m. NOLA Brewing's Pour Decisions
NOLA Brewing is putting on their craziest specialty beers to close out LaCBW - there are too many to list, but check out the event page for that important info. Go to the free tour at 2pm beforehand for the full experience.

4:30-6:30 p.m. - Chafunkta Brewing at 504 Craft Beer Reserve

NOLA Brew Bus Grand Opening

NOLA Brewing
Although the NOLA Brew Bus won’t be giving tours until the end of the month (stay tuned to the Gambit to get more info on the venture), they’re holding a “grand opening” at NOLA Brewing, where the founders of the company will be on hand to talk about the new beer-focused tour bus, which will be parked onsite for people to see. The first 50 people there will get a free beer.

7 p.m. - Kingfish (337 Chartres St., 504-598-5005) hosts a beer dinner featuring alligator 
Chef Nathan Richard will prepare alligator "turtle" soup and smoked gator baby back ribs, and there are beers from Abita Brewing Company, Bayou Teche Brewing, Chafunkta Brewing Company, Chappapeela Farms Brewery, Mudbug Brewery and Tin Roof Brewing Company. (Due to overwhelming demand for the first night, the restaurant added this second night.)
